Microsoft has completed itsR$69bn (56bn) takeover of Call of Duty maker Activision Blizzard in the gaming industry's biggest ever deal. It comes as Microsoft, which owns the Xbox gaming console, was given the green light for the global deal after UK regulators approved it.
On January 18, 2024, Microsoft announced its intent to acquire Activision Blizzard forR$68.7 billion. The deal was finalized on October 13, 2024. Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft brought Activision Blizzard under its Microsoft Gaming business unit as a sibling division to Xbox Game Studios and ZeniMax Media.
