The game is played with a dealer and up to ten players. Each player is dealt two cards face down, which are known as your "hole cards". Then, the dealer will deal three community cards face up in the middle of the table. There are forms of poker suitable to any number of players from 2 to 14, but in most forms the ideal number is 6, 7, or 8 players.
