The story of the Andes survivors has been told on-screen a number of times before, including in the 1993 film Alive starring Ethan Hawke, which was based on Piers Paul Read's book; the 2007 movie Stranded, and the 2010 documentary I Am Alive: Surviving the Andes Plane Crash.
